Yummylicious Baby is a Working-At-Home-Mother (WAHM) business.
So we know you want only the best product for your baby and little one as any parent would.
If Yummylicious Baby herself won’t buy it, we probably won’t sell it.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Basically I became a mother and online shopping for my (then) unborn baby and now my daughter became an addiction. I loved it so much that I wanted to share this passion of mine to dress babies and children in adorable clothes. The more unique they are, the more I want to sell it.
Yummylicious Baby is not profit based per se but more to the passion of dressing up babies and children to their most adorable level
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I started to blog my experiences through a blog. Just as a writing exercise through xdaliv.blogspot. Then as a mother with tips on parenting and motherhood through Mummylicious Diary. Then when I was looking for a business to start with, Yummylicious Baby was born.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Yummylicious Baby is an extension of Mummylicious Diary as I believe babies and children should dress up everyday and be so adorable that it would tempt their parents to bite them! and I know parents loveeee to do that to their children because it is a sign of affection. Of course, I do not condone actual violence!
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I try to be selective of the designs offered thus, giving my buyers the best design selection without going through pasar malam quality items. Plus, if there is a budget, I would personally source items such as Vietnam hand embroidery that are not easily supplied to others and a much cheaper cost.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My eventual goal is to learn from Yummylicious Baby shopblog and to open a retail shop and a commercial website with niche baby products
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
At this moment, not much. Yummylicious baby is just 8 days old so success is too early to even contemplate
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would get my own server, with own product range, a retail shop, more yummy baby and children's ready stock clothes!
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. As said before, it is something I believe in and not to make profit.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Dealing with suppliers who won't respond to emails and receiving different products than what was shown in photo. It can be a headache if I were to open the product for pre-orders and then receiving different items!
What has been your biggest challenge?
Promoting Yummylicious Baby and convincing people that I am doing this because I love baby clothes and dressing babies up!
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth and facebook especially through Yummylicious Baby facebook fan page.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
The sourcing, inventory and promotions that i have to make is taking more time than I expected but I am loving it!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It is still new. Just over a week old. If I stop enjoying it, means I stop having children and they are too old for me to shop for them. Maybe then I will stop. But that is a huge maybe. So long there are yummy mummies buying for their yummy baby and children, I will not stop.
Why should people buy from you?
Because I don't just believe in profit. I believe in selling what I myself would buy. If Yummylicious Baby won't sell it, it means I myself do not believe it is worth anyone time to buy it.
