Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad - MP for Kuala Selangor, says that their country is trapped in a low wage, low-value-added, low productivity structure. He adds, compared to Korea and Singapore's nominal per capita GDP which has grown by 12 and 9 folds more in the last 3 decades while Malaysia just have somewhere within a factor of four.
