Zoom Malaysia: Promoting a Country's Tourism

"Zoom Malaysia" is a campaign to promote domestic tourism which will run for six months starting October until March 2009. Singaporean Will Still Go To Malaysia

Although the world economy is not in good shape and city-state technical recession is present, Singaporeans will not be stopped to go to Malaysia for a shopping holiday.

Tourism Malaysia director for Singapore, Rafidah Idris, says that the numbers from Singapore remain strong this year and it was an important source market for the Malaysian tourism industry.

Last year alone, Malaysia was visited by 9.66 million tourists from Singapore, about 46 percent of the total visitors of the country making about RM 44.5 billion earnings.
